The second MEDC Member-to-Member Seminar Series on Tuesday, June 12, featuring David Rumbarger, President/CEO, Community Development Foundation, Tupelo/Lee County, Mississippi, was very well attended. David's presentation on "Faith, Perseverance and Partnerships -TOYOTA: A Story of Many Paths Coming Together" was well received by the audience. Thank you, David, for taking time out of your busy schedule to meet with the MEDC membership.

The next MEDC Member-To-Member Seminars are scheduled for September 11 and October 9.   These seminars will provide time for MEDC members to network and to hear from members who have a unique expertise to share with other members.  Please email carol@medc.ms with any suggestions you have

This year MEDC will initiate this awards program at the MEDC Summer Conference.  Information is available at CEDA. Thanks to all who submitted nominations. Winners have been notified and will be honored at the Governor's Cup / Community Economic Development Awards Banquet on Thursday, July 19. Tickets are included with conference registration. Community and Economic Development Awards Program (CEDA).

GO Zones - The Mississippi Development Authority and MEDC teamed up to bring you the
latest on the incentives created by the Gulf Opportunity Zone Act passed late last year by Congress. 
These provisions will encourage private-sector investment in 49 counties in Mississippi to help rebuild from Hurricane Katrina.  For more information, go the www.mississippi.org
