Gold fillings
Benefits
* Sustainability (the fillings that last as long, at least 15 years if properly maintained)
* Strength (can resist the forces of chewing)
* Aesthetics (some people find that gold is more beautiful than gray fillings)
Disadvantages
* Cost (much more expensive than composite fillings or amalgam)
* Sometimes require several visits to the dentist
* Shock galvanic (rare if a shutter is placed in or next to any Amalgam fillings, mini electric current can occur in the presence of saliva, causing pain)
* Aesthetics (some people do not find that gold is pretty on their teeth)
