Composite fillings (white fillings)

Composites are materials in the form of pastes containing particles of quartz, silica and zirconium. They are very aesthetic and allow restoration invisible through a multitude of hues. Originally used for anterior teeth, the development of composite more resistant to wear allowed to use them also to restore the posterior teeth.
Benefits
     * Aesthetic improved (the color of the composite can be identical to the color of a tooth)
     * Strong link with the tooth (the composite is related chemically to the tooth, providing better support)
     * Versatility of use (in addition to providing material shutter, the composite can be used to repair teeth broken or worn teeth)
     * Less destruction of dental material (when repairing a bunt, less tooth structure must be removed for fillings to be prepared composite rather than those made in amalgam)
Disadvantages
     * Durability than the gray fillings (7 to 10 years)
     * Cost (the composite fillings are slightly more expensive than those in amalgam)
